Love sound and design? Monitor Audio allows you to sit in the lap of luxury with their precision engineered GX Speakers. They are made with premier materials and precise CAD tools in order to deliver “pure sound, as free as possible from mechanical distortions and cabinet resonances.”

When it comes to technology, Monitor Audio is on the cutting edge. They use Platinum C-Cam ribbon transducer in their drivers and an efficient wideband design. This allows the speaker to reproduce “the entire harmonic spectrum of every note at frequencies way beyond the audible threshold.”

Design is also extremely important. Monitor Audio says, “We build speakers to inspire ownership, not just for the sound they reproduce, but also for the way they look and feel.” The GX line was designed to blend geometry that compliments the sound with materials that have a mirror like lustre. The GX speakers are enclosed in real-wood cabinets, hand veneered and have 7 layers of lacquer in order to show the depth of the finish.

The System:

GX50 and GX100: A brace of two-way stand-mounting monitors

GX200 and GX300: A matching number of 3-way floor standing models

GX-FX: An ultra-versatile surround speaker

650W GXW: Subwoofer

GXC150 and GXC 350: Two specialized center models sized for acoustic consistency in smaller or larger home theatres

What others are saying:

“The ribbon tweeter sounds especially sweet, affording high frequencies a show-stopping level of refinement and finesse.” -What HiFi? Sound & Vision

“Voices are notably clear and open, ensuring fine intelligibility of lyrics.” -Techradar.com

“The 15-ply red bubinga woodgrain covering the one-inch MDF on the speaker was unusual, subtle, and lovely and the cabinet did well in the knuckle-rap test.” -Mark Fleischmann: Home Theater Magazine

Whether you have a doctor’s office, open office plans where cubicle walls do not reach the ceiling, or other commercial spaces, Streamline Systems is offering a solution for those who desire conversational privacy. Pink Noise. We are able to give you a distributed sound system using pink noise in sufficient levels to mask low level background noise and other’s conversations.

The definition of pink noise is: “Random noise having equal energy within each octave of the audio spectrum. The level decreases at a rate of 3 dB per octave. Used for testing and equalization of sound systems.”

Basically, if you would like to be able to focus on the phone conversation you are having with a very important client without the disturbance of your neighboring colleague’s conversation, this is a great solution for you.

We are highly skilled at determining the correct set up for your office depending on the ceiling height and type, noise already in the room, the distance between employees, etc. We will also make sure to balance out the sound so that there is an even distribution to everyone in the work space. You can have precise control over the amount of pink noise by having a volume control for each speaker emitting the noise. If you have a drop ceiling, you won’t even see the speakers at all. The noise change will also happen gradually so the use of the pink noise will be hardly detectable.

The ultimate goal is to achieve a noise level where two people can have a normal conversation 1-3 feet apart, but from one cubicle to another a conversation would be unintelligible.

The warm weather is making its way to Michigan. With only a few months of beautiful sun rays beating down on us, we have to make the most of our outdoor experience. With SoundCast OutCast wireless and weatherproof speaker system, you can enjoy your music while on the patio or jumping into the pool. OutCast works on a proprietary 2.4GHz frequency and therefore has a powerful broadcast range of up to 300-feet, which in all reality would even allow you to listen to music on your boat. A main feature is that you play it off of your iPod. SoundCast offers an iPod dock as well as other audio-connections. CNET Reviews gave the OutCast a rating of Excellent and said that the audio quality is impressive.

Streamline Systems takes a lot of pride in our designs. When we look at a blueprint we pay attention to the details and keep the big picture of what you are trying to achieve in mind.

Custom Designs

Streamline focuses on your needs. We look at the room’s layout and take note of where people will be seated. This is important because we will balance out the speakers so that depending on where you are in the room, you will have an optimal audio/visual experience. This is not a cookie cutter package. Streamline engineers the audio/video to specifically work to fit each room in your home. We give you a truly custom design and installation.

Wiring Design Layout

What if you want to move a speaker later? Streamline creates a wiring design for the present and future needs. With the technology and products changing rapidly, we know that you will want to keep up with the latest so we wire your home with foresight so that your system can grow with you.

Design Time

Streamline puts in hours of design time and expertise so that you can enjoy your system with ease of use. We bring all of the components you want together so that it is seamless and all you have to do is enjoy.

Designing an Atmosphere in the Home

It is so satisfying to see a customer thrilled to enter their home to an unveiling of the atmosphere they always desired.

Streamline Systems wants to make your senses come alive.

Imagine your fingers turning the knob of your front door and peaking inside only to have your breath taken away in amazement. Soft notes of music float to your ears. Your eyes follow the light which is perfectly lit leading you to your living room. Finding a seat, you notice that where you expected to find a TV, your favorite painting is framed and lightly lit. Then the painting scrolls away, your ears are filled with the booming intro of your favorite movie even though speakers and a sub woofer are nowhere to be seen. The shades went down. There are no distractions. You are now encompassed with the far away world of your movie. Streamline Systems wants to make your senses come alive.

Control your lighting so that it is not dull or too bright. You can even have settings such as “Reading Setting” which can light up your artwork at 40%.

Set the mood in your home to party or to kick back and relax. If you don’t have music throughout your home now, you won’t believe how this transforms the daily experience of your home.

Add temperature control with ease of operation so your home works for you.

Don’t see your equipment, experience it. Streamline will work with you or your designer to hide the equipment racks.

Streamline Systems is known for our visionary designs and our genuine care of each individual we work with. We want to transform your home to be multidimensional. You home should not only provide shelter, but a place where the amenities give you ease of use, awaken your senses and allow you a new way to live.

Design Testimonials

“Abe,

We wanted to thank you for all your time and support on our projects. Each time we worked with you we were given wonderful designs and options for our entertainment and home automation needs. Your knowledge of products and equipment have suited our family beautifully.” Read More…

“Streamline Systems installed our custom audio and video system in our home, approx. 2 years ago.

Their team of installers and designers were top notch and a pleasure to work with. They gave us detailed instruction on how to run the equipment, and any time after installation, when we had a question, they provided answers either over the phone, or in person.

I highly recommend Streamline to anyone installing a custom audio/video system in their home. ”

Doug and Cindy Hoofman

“We are pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Abe and is crew at Streamline Systems as our experience was excellent. They were able to custom design an audiovisual system for our house that exceeded our expectations. Abe spent a great deal of time with us explaining the design of the system and fine tuning it to better meet our needs. The project was performed for the agreed upon cost, it was installed in a timely fashion and follow-up after installation has been most impressive. We highly recommend Abe and his team for the design, installation and maintenance of a home audiovisual system.”

The Control4 HC-800 is here and featuring a dual core 1.8GHz processor, which makes the Control4 operating system that much more powerful. It is designed to run demanding control systems. The automation control is much faster and can also interact with larger video or music libraries.

It comes with:

4 audio outputs- 2 analog, 1 digital, and 1HDMI

Integrated with Wireless-N and ZigBee with external antennas

eSATA and USB ports

Dual core 1.8GHz processor

Home Technology said: “Designed to fit in a slim 1RU, the rack-mountable HC-800 has two RS-232 ports, six IR ports, and four contact and relay switches. It also has enough analog and digital outputs for four independent zones of audio, without the need for a second media player. Of course, there’s also HDMI audio/video connectivity for Blu-ray players, receivers, and more.”

Control4 says that the HC-800 controller is preferred when a client desires:

Single controller, with plans to expand, or the need to control more than 4 source devices

Primary controller in multi-controller installations

Secondary controller when significant I/O is needed and on screen performance is important

ZigBee performance is a high priority

External ZigBee antenna is desired

HDMI and/or high performance on-screen is required; primary or secondary

Streamline Systems is now featuring the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 6010 Home Theater Projector!

The 6010 Projector can switch from 2D to 3D mode. It includes 2 pairs of active shutter 3D glasses along with a ceiling mount, cable cover, and spare lamp. A highlight of the 6010 projector is that in 2D mode it has a Split Screen feature, which allows you to project two images side-by-side from two different sources. In 2D mode, the 6010 has Anamorphic Widescreen Mode which fills the 16:9 aspect ratio of the imaging area. This pushes the black bars that you would normally see above and below the image when watching HDTV out of the viewing area. The 3D mode also has some great features. Epson’s 480 Hz drive system gives you greater brightness when viewing 3D images by minimizing the blackout time of 3D glasses. In 3D mode you get deeper, darker blacks with Epson’s UltraBlack technology. This gives you more vibrant images. Whether in 2D or 3D, the 6010 is all about picture and image quality.

There are many qualities that make up the Epson 6010 projector.

It has 3 chips for full-time vibrant color using its 3LCD technology. The E-TORL lamp is energy efficient and lasts up to 5000 hours giving you lowering your costs and maximizing your presentation time. The OptiCinema lens gives you outstanding picture uniformity and clarity across the screen. The projector has optimum white and color imagery because it delivers 2400 lumens of color light output and 2400 lumens of white light output. Lastly, Epson has Auto Iris technology which adjusts the aperture to provide excellent contrast and brightness for each scene.

Make an appointment to come see it in our showroom!

Control4 is now offering card access packages. There are four different packages offered which include Doorbell and Phone, Water Leak Detection, Smart Garage, and Smart Garage Deluxe. The neat thing is that if your doorbell or phone rings, your Control4 will detect this and trigger your home to automate with your desired response. For example, the doorbell could ring and then your security camera could show you who is at the door, your audio system could turn to a lower volume or the lights could flash to let a deaf person know someone is visiting.

The same goes for the Water Leak Detection. You can program the Control4 to generate a response within the home from your other automation devices. Even more helpful in this case is that when you are away from home your Control4 device can alert you that you have a water leak at home.

There are many nice features for the Smart Garage as well. You can program it to open and close at certain times during the day. Hasn’t everyone been annoyed at some point that it was left up the night before? Also, it comes with a Card Access External Thermostat which makes it easy to get an outside temperature reading to allow outdoor temperature -based automation events of your choice occur within the home. Each Card Access Package allows the homeowner more ease in controlling their home’s environment and safety.

*Package Details can be found at Control4′s website.

The plastic organic layers of OLED are thinner, lighter and more flexible. Someday, we will even be able to roll up our TV’s and put them away or have them built in our clothing. OLED’s can be made into lights so walls and windows could potentially be turned into light fixtures in the future. OLED’s are brighter than LED’s because the organic layers are much thinner than the crystal layers of LED’s. OLED’s do not require back-lighting like LCD’s because they generate light themselves and therefore also consume less power. In the future, OLED’s may be 100% efficient.

There are a few disadvantages. The manufacturing costs are still expensive. While the red and green films have longer lifetimes (46,000 to 230,000 hours), the blue film only has 14,000 hours. Also, water can easily damage the OLED’s.
LG has a prototype that should come out in the first or second quarter of this year in the form of a 55” TV. Samsung has something similar with a 40” TV.

In the future, it is projected that an 80” TV that is only a quarter inch thick could be possible. One of the down sides is that on the market right now are only small screens like phones because it is difficult to make this on a large scale and still have good picture quality. This is precisely why there is so much excitement over the LG and Samsung TVs. Tim Moynihan at PCWorld said that the colors are vivid and the blacks are pitch-black. The response times and motion are fast and sharp.

Here is a really neat figure on how OLED works:

Gorilla Glass has exceptional damage resistance and seamless full glass fronts. It is thin, light-weight and is sensitive to touch applications. It also has customized printing options. It enhances 3D TV’s by giving them even better optical clarity. Corning has just come out with an 82” multi-touch display using Gorilla Glass 2 which is the world’s largest Gorilla Glass display. There are many other products on the market that use Gorilla Glass already such as LG and Samsung Smartphones, Sony TV’s and Dell Tablets. Check them out!
